BIRDWATCHING

WE ARE A BIRDWATCHER’S PARADISE!

The Everglades is famous for wading birds.  We have an abundance of egrets, herons, ibis, wood storks, and the beautiful roseate spoonbills!  However, birdwatchers from all over the globe also come to see the hundreds of birds that migrate through our area in the winter…and for some of our less common year-round residents like the white-crowned pigeon,  and mangrove cuckoo.

It’s not uncommon to identify 150 birds on a fairly short trip!  There are plenty of places you can venture out on your own easily and safely.  You can also contact one of our eco-tours to just sit back, relax and tally up your list!
